Chocolate breakfast smoothie is a nutritious, quick and convenient breakfast option, perfectly blending the richness of chocolate flavour with oats and an apple. Ingredients
- Oats - 20g/ 2 tbsp
- Apple ( medium sized) - 1
- Cocoa powder - 5.5g/ 1 tbsp
- Milk - 250ml/ 1 cup
- Brown Sugar - 11g/ 1 tbsp
- Ice cubes (optional) - 5-6

Instructions
- In a large bowl, soak 15 seedless medium sized dates in milk for 3 hours.
- After 3 hours, grind the dates and milk mixture into a smooth paste like consistency.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C for 10 mins and line any tray of your choice with parchment paper. Here, I have used a silicone mould and hence, I’ve brushed with little oil.
- Add oil and vanilla essence to the dates mixture and mix it until well-combined.
- Sieve whole wheat flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda into the mixture.
- Mix well until a smooth batter is attained. Be careful not to overmix as it can lead to hardening of the cake.
- Fill the batter evenly in any tin of your choice.
- Bake at 180°C for 25 mins or until a toothpick inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean. If the toothpick comes out moist and sticky, the cake requires additional baking time.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for 5 mins. Serve and Enjoy!!

How To Make Chocolate Breakfast Smoothie
1. In a bowl, soak 2 tbsp of oats for two minutes.
2. Peel the apple and roughly chop it into pieces.
3. In a blender, add one cup of milk, chopped apple pieces, cocoa powder and brown sugar.
4. Drain the excess water from the oats and add them to the blender along with ice cubes.
5. Blend the mixture until well combined.
