Chocolate Burfi is a beloved Indian dessert that beautifully blends traditional sweets with the indulgence of chocolate. Ingredients
- Milk- 2 liter/ 8 cups
- Cocoa powder- 5g/ 2 tsp
- Cardamom powder- 0.57g/ ¼ tsp
- Granulated Sugar- 150g/ ¾ cup
- Pistachios- 10 nos
Instructions
- Chop the nuts and set them aside.
- Line a square/rectangular tin with butter paper and set it aside as well.
- In a large kadai, add milk and heat it over medium heat while continuously stirring it.
- Keep stirring until the milk thickens and has a gooey and grainy texture as shown below.
- At this point, add sugar and mix well.
- Continue mixing until the mixture holds a smooth and sticky consistency, as demonstrated below.
- Next, add cardamom powder.
- keep mixing until you achieve a non-sticky texture, as shown below and turn off the heat.
- Add one half to the lined tin, level it with a spatula.
- In the other half, mix in cocoa powder thoroughly, then spread it on top of the cake tin and level it off with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the chopped nuts on top.
- Allow it to set at room temperature for an hour. Once set, remove the burfi from the tin and slice it into your desired shapes!
- Serve and enjoy!
